OSCAR HISTORY: Best Animated Feature Film

For many years, many people lobbied for a new Oscar specifically devoted to honoring animated films, especially once a resurgence began led by Disney showing that animated features were once again being accepted, and in fact, would become some of the biggest box office successes of any films. Finally, in 2001, they created this new Oscar, and have already been on the way to honoring a grand new legacy in animated achievements.
