OSCAR HISTORY: Oscar Ceremony Dates & Locations

Before the Academy finally built their own theater in Hollywood in 2002, they would often select various venues around Los Angeles to hold the annual telecast. In the early years, the awards show was a banquet with dinner tables, eventually moving to theaters. It's interesting also to see how the Academy has pretty much tried to hold their ceremony on almost every night of the week, settling into Sunday nights in more recent years. Here is the entire history of all the Oscar show details ... what day and date it was held, where it took place, and once radio and TV came into being, which network did the broadcast.
