The first sight of the dinosaurs
F R O M
JURASSIC PARK (1993)

This film from director Steven Spielberg was a landmark for visual effects in cinema, and this scene finally left audiences breathless after so much anticipation to see the most realistic dinosaurs ever presented on film. No more jerky stop-motion puppets, and hokey special effects, this film combined state of the art computer generated dinosaurs with real time action and the most advanced animatronics available. The audience is breathless with anticipation when the crew of Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough, and Sam Neill arrive to see the dinosaurs for the first time. John Williams's score is absolutely majestic, as we too experience the awe apparent on the people's faces, because we are in awe that cinema has advanced this much in the area of visual effects, and this realism contributes to an intense roller coaster ride of a film as humans and dinosaurs are put in the mix together for the first time.
