The ending where Mickey and Mallory shoot Wayne Gale
F R O M
NATURAL BORN KILLERS (1994)

After having escaped from prison during one of the most incredible prison riots ever put on film, Mickey and Mallory Knox, played by Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis, are interviewed one last time by the tabloid reporter who's helped to make them stars, Wayne Gale, played by Robert Downey Jr. Wayne has figured some kind of bond has developed between them. But instead Mickey and Mallory finish up their killing by shooting Wayne Gale in front of his own camera, allowing the camera to tell the tale -- even to the end, Wayne is attempting to convince them that they and the media are intertwined -- it's an incredibly ironic ending to this powerful film by Oliver Stone which strongly showed us exactly what the media does to us, as it concentrates on the slime and disgust and violence of society, and making heroes of those who perpetrate the violence. It's an incredibly powerful moment from one of the greatest stylistic films ever made.
